PACHW 2nd Annual Rally Day at the State Capitol

Join us in supporting and celebrating Pennsylvania’s Community Health Workers by adding your name to our petition urging legislators and the Department of Human Services to support the work of these essential public health workers by ensuring Medicaid reimburses them for their services.

Rally and Press Conference: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Rally/Press Conference Location: Main Rotunda and East Wing in the PA State Capitol Complex –  501 N 3rd St, Harrisburg, PA 17120
Rally Day Registration Deadline: End of Day – Tuesday, October 1st 2024.

Event Description: Join us for the 2nd Annual PA CHW Rally Day! The event is scheduled for Tuesday 10/22 from 9 am to 3 pm. The Rally portion is scheduled from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Main Rotunda and East Wing in the PA State Capitol Complex. In the morning we will be gathering at the East Shore YMCA prior to walking over to the State Capitol for the Rally event. This is the same gathering spot as last year if you were able to join us. The time at the YMCA (9:00 am – 10:30 am) will be used for networking with your peers from across the commonwealth, creating signs to be held during the rally, and to get PUMPED UP. We will come together as one and celebrate and honor the work of CHWs, AKA healthcare heroes. Pro Tip: Wear comfortable shoes! You will be on your feet for most of the day.

PACHW 1st Annual Rally Day at the State Capitol

The first-ever Pennsylvania Community Health Worker (CHW) Rally Day was held on October 17th. Over 150 CHWs and CHW Allies from across Pennsylvania gathered on the State Capitol Steps in Harrisburg for the Rally and meet with over 20 legislators throughout the day to share the impact of CHWs in PA and the importance of financially sustaining these positions. Rally speakers consisted of 10 CHWs serving PA residents; Dr. Debra Bogen, Acting Secretary of Health; and Majority Chairman Stephen Kinsey of the PA House Human Services Committee.
